PELC - Professional E-Learning Certification for Teachers, Trainers and Academic Staff working in Schools, Colleges, Universities and Educational Institutions

INTRODUCTION

Professional E-Learning Certification is the first and most comprehensive program (35 Modules) in E-Learning. This program helps teachers, tutors, trainers, lecturers and other faculty members to scale up their pedagogy, and brings innovative and creative teaching methods to the online teaching-learning environment.

E-Learning - What & Why

With computers and Internet becoming greatly accessible across India, the teachers and students have found a new and dynamic learning platform, which we now call as E-Learning. In simple terms, E-Learning is the use of Internet and computers to further students' learning activities.

E-Learning promotes the idea of "learning anywhere, anytime." The teacher and the student interact online to further learning. This may happen on two levels:

SYNCHRONOUS - The teacher and student interact in real-time via web conference and chat.
ASYNCHRONOUS - The teacher and the student interact via Email, Discussion Forums, and Social Media (Facebook, Twitter etc), at their own pace and time, and further the learning environment.

COVID-19: The Game Changer

COVID-19 or Corona Virus is a global pandemic. This virus has been the largest game changer of all times. No doubt, it has unleashed never before era of suffering and death, it definitely questioned human intelligence. It has catalyzed greater human efforts at innovation and understanding of the changed global environment.

Corona has initiated a paradigm shift, which meant negation of traditional processes and systems across different sectors. It called for innovation of out-of-the box and quick-fix mechanisms. In this context, the global education has also witnessed increasing adoption of E-Learning methods and tools. With personal hygiene and social distancing in full force, it seems that, for all educational institutions at this point of time, there is no alternative but to adopt and follow E-Learning practices.

Also as there is no cure for this virus, national governments have imposed lock-down to stop its massive spread. With schools and colleges closed in India and across the globe, the traditional teacher-student face-to-face interactions have seized to exist, and classroom based learning has come to a standstill. However, as the academic activity demands continuous progress, a parallel method of teaching and learning was found in E-Learning. Globally, teachers and students are gaining access to online learning platforms, to meet, discuss, and further assessments.
